The Split & Tip application is developed and maintained by Roman Koch (developer), who is solely responsible for the management and operation of the app. For any inquiries, users can reach out via email at support@romankoch.online.
2. Object
The Split & Tip app has been developed to provide users with a fast and user-friendly tool for calculating tips and splitting bills. It includes features such as adjustable tip percentages, customizable split options among multiple people, and support for individual contributions and adjustments (hereinafter the “Content”).
3. Compatible Devices
The Split & Tip app is currently available exclusively on the Apple App Store for iOS devices. Users must comply with all applicable terms and conditions set by the Apple App Store for downloading, installing, and updating the app.
4. Start
When launching the Split & Tip app for the first time, users receive access to a Premium Trial Version for a limited period (currently 7 days). During this trial, all premium features are unlocked, allowing users to fully explore the app at no cost. The trial duration may vary based on promotions or future changes to the app.
After the trial ends, the app automatically locks. Users then have the option to purchase a Lifetime Version, which unlocks full access to all features permanently with a one-time payment.
The purchase is made via the Apple App Store using the available payment methods.
All user preferences and configurations can be managed anytime through the in-app settings.

5. Method of Use
When starting the Split & Tip application, users are welcomed by the Home Screen, where they can immediately begin entering bill amounts and calculating tips. The intuitive layout enables users to quickly access the core functionalities of the app:
- Entering a bill total
- Selecting a tip percentage
- Splitting the total among multiple people
- Making individual adjustments if needed
From the Home Screen, users can also access additional tools and information, such as viewing detailed breakdowns of how the total is split, and navigating to the Personal Area by tapping the person icon in the bottom right corner.
The Personal Area allows users to:
- View the status of their Premium Trial or Lifetime purchase
- Access the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Help section for guidance and support
5.1 Features
The app offers a streamlined and easy-to-use experience with the following features:
- Tip calculator with customizable percentages
- Bill-splitting across multiple people
- Rounded or precise values based on user preference
- Assign individual custom amounts per person
- Automatically distribute the remaining total among other participants
These features are designed to help users handle group payments effortlessly and transparently, whether at a restaurant, during a trip, or any other shared expense.
6. Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights
All intellectual and industrial property rights related to the Split & Tip app are the exclusive property of the developer, Roman Koch, who retains full rights over the exploitation of the app in all its forms, including reproduction, distribution, public communication, and modification.
Any third-party elements used within the app—such as icons, illustrations, or libraries—have been included under the appropriate licenses and authorizations.
The user acknowledges that the following actions are strictly prohibited and constitute a violation of intellectual property rights:
- Copying, altering, distributing, selling, decompiling, or disassembling the app
- Using reverse engineering or other techniques to extract or reconstruct the source code
- Republishing or reusing any components of the app without permission
Users agree to refrain from any actions that could infringe upon the developer’s intellectual property rights or violate the integrity of the app.
7. Privacy Policy
The Split & Tip app does not collect, store, or process any personal data. All information, including bill amounts, tip settings, and user preferences, is stored locally on the user’s device. No data is transmitted to any external server or shared with third parties.
As such, users can enjoy the full functionality of the app without needing to create an account or share personal information. The app operates entirely offline and ensures full privacy.
8. Responsibility
Split & Tip strives to deliver the best possible experience with a focus on stability, accuracy, and usability. However, the developer assumes no liability for issues outside their reasonable control, including disruptions, errors, or damages caused by technical failures or third-party actions.
8.1 Service Interruptions and Technical Issues
Split & Tip is not liable for damages resulting from:
- Interruptions, errors, or malfunctions due to unexpected technical problems, maintenance work, or software updates
- Connectivity issues related to network problems, device incompatibility, or Apple App Store service outages
- Temporary unavailability of the app caused by system vulnerabilities or cybersecurity incidents
Users are encouraged to maintain updated device security measures, including antivirus software and regular OS updates, to reduce risks while using the app.
8.2 Third-Party Actions and Misuse of the App
Split & Tip disclaims responsibility for:
- Unauthorized access or misuse by third parties (e.g., hacking attempts or tampering)
- Any damage caused by improper or unintended use of the app that violates the Terms of Use or general guidelines
Users are expected to use the app in a lawful and respectful manner, in line with its intended purpose.
8.3 Force Majeure and External Factors

9. Nullity and Ineffectiveness of the Clauses
If any clause within these Terms and Conditions is declared wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable, such declaration shall only affect the specific clause in question. The remaining terms will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
For all legal matters relating to the use of the Split & Tip app:
- For Individual Users: The applicable laws and jurisdiction shall correspond to the user’s country of residence.
