1. Responsible for the App
The Beat It application is developed and maintained by Roman Koch (developer), who is solely responsible for the management and operation of the app. For any inquiries, users can reach out via email at apps@romankoch.online.
2. Object
The Beat It app has been developed to provide users with a fast and user-friendly tool for logging blood pressure and heart rate. It includes features such as logging blood pressure and heart rate, exporting readings as PDF or other formats, charts and trends view, and optional synchronization of readings to Apple Health. The app also lets users suggest and vote for new features and contact the developer for support from within the app.
3. Compatible Devices
The Beat It app is currently available exclusively on the Apple App Store for iOS devices. Users must comply with all applicable terms and conditions set by the Apple App Store for downloading, installing, and updating the app.
4. Start
Beat It offers two ways to unlock the full version of the app:
- Monthly Subscription - an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks all premium features for as long as it remains active. Users subscribing for the first time receive a free trial period (currently 7 days) so they can test the app at no cost. The trial duration may vary based on promotions or future changes to the app.
- Lifetime Version - a one-time purchase that unlocks full access to all features permanently, with no recurring payment.
If the free trial is not cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends, it automatically converts into a paid monthly subscription, and the subscription renews each month until cancelled. Payment is charged to the user's Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and upon each renewal. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time in the App Store account settings; any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
Until the app is unlocked through either option, features remain locked.
All purchases are made via the Apple App Store using the available payment methods.
All user preferences and configurations can be managed anytime through the in-app settings.
The official Apple App Store terms of use can be found here:
www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/es/terms.html
5. Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights

Any third-party elements used within the app - such as icons, illustrations, or libraries - have been included under the appropriate licenses and authorizations.
The user acknowledges that the following actions are strictly prohibited and constitute a violation of intellectual property rights:
- Copying, altering, distributing, selling, decompiling, or disassembling the app
- Using reverse engineering or other techniques to extract or reconstruct the source code
- Republishing or reusing any components of the app without permission
Users agree to refrain from any actions that could infringe upon the developer's intellectual property rights or violate the integrity of the app.
6. Privacy Policy
6.1 General Principle
Beat It does not require an account. You can use all features of the app without giving your name, email address or other personal information.
Your blood pressure and heart rate readings, and everything else you enter to log them, are stored only on your device. They are never sent to the developer, to any server, or to any third party.
Only the following information leaves your device:
- Usage statistics, for example that the app was opened. They are linked only to a random ID, not to your name (section 6.3).
- Feature requests and support messages, only when you choose to send them (section 6.3).
- Information about your purchases, which is needed to unlock the full version (section 6.4).
The sections below explain what is sent in each case, who receives it, and how you can have it deleted.
6.2 Health Data and Apple Health (HealthKit)
Beat It uses Apple's HealthKit framework so that the readings you enter in the app can optionally be saved to the Apple Health app on your device.
What data is involved
Beat It may write the following data to Apple Health:
- Blood pressure readings (systolic and diastolic values)
- Heart rate readings
- The date and time associated with each reading
Beat It writes this data to Apple Health only. The app does not read, import, or query any health data from Apple Health.
How the data is used
Health data is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of the app: recording, displaying, charting, and exporting your own blood pressure and heart rate readings, and - with your permission - storing those readings in Apple Health so they are available to you across the Health ecosystem.
What we never do with your health data
- Health data obtained through or written to HealthKit is never transmitted to the developer, to any server, or to any third party.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or any similar service.
- Health data is never used for data mining, profiling, analytics, or any purpose other than health, fitness, and medical research (and Beat It does not conduct research).
- Health data is never sold, rented, licensed, or disclosed to data brokers, insurers, employers, or advertising platforms.
- The app does not require an account, and health data is never linked to an online identity.
Your control over health data
- Access to Apple Health is optional. The app asks for your explicit permission before writing any data, and Beat It remains fully usable if you decline.
- You can grant or revoke Beat It's HealthKit permissions at any time in the iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Beat It, or in the Health app > Sharing > Apps.
- Data that Beat It has written to Apple Health remains under your control in the Health app and can be reviewed or deleted there at any time.
- Readings stored inside Beat It can be deleted individually within the app, and all app data is permanently removed from your device when you delete the app.
Data storage and security
All readings entered in Beat It are stored locally on your device. Data written to Apple Health is stored in Apple's encrypted HealthKit store on your device and is protected by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, and by any iCloud protections you have enabled. The developer has no access to this data at any time.
Medical disclaimer
Beat It is a logging and visualization tool, not a medical device. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your blood pressure, heart rate, or any other health concern.
6.3 InsightKit: Usage Statistics, Feature Requests and Support
Service provider
The app uses InsightKit (insightskit.co) for usage statistics, feature requests and support. InsightKit is located in Germany, and the data is stored on servers in Germany. It is not transferred to countries outside the European Union. InsightKit processes the data on behalf of the developer, who remains responsible for it. InsightKit uses the data only to provide these functions to the developer and to show the developer's answers to you in the app.
Your identity
You do not need an account. The app creates random identifiers and stores them on your device: one for usage statistics, and one for feature requests and support, which is kept in your device's Keychain. They let the developer count how many people use the app, and they let the app show you your own conversations and votes. They do not contain your name, email address, Apple Account or any advertising identifier. The app does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Usage statistics
The app sends a short message to InsightKit when:
- the app is opened, or comes back after at least 5 minutes of not being used,
- a reading is saved. Only the fact that a reading was saved is sent, never its values,
- a report is exported. Only the fact that a report was exported is sent, never its content.
Each message contains the random app ID, a random session ID that changes after 5 minutes without use, the time, and the identifier of the app itself. When the app is opened, the message also contains: app version, iOS version, device type (iPhone or iPad), the language chosen in the app, the region set on your device, whether this is the first launch, and the number of days since the app was last opened.
The developer uses these statistics only to understand how many people use the app and which features they use, and to improve the app. As with every internet connection, the server receives your device's IP address in order to answer.
Feature requests and votes
In the app's settings, you can suggest new features, vote for features, and write to the developer for support. Using these features is optional. Nothing you write is sent until you tap Send, and no vote is sent until you tap Vote.
- When you suggest a feature, the app sends the title and the optional details you write.
- When you vote, the app sends which feature you voted for. Your votes are also saved on your device.
- If the public feature board is turned on, other users of the app can see the title and details of your idea and how many votes it has. They cannot see who wrote it or who voted for it. The app shows you before you send whether your idea is public or visible only to the developer.
- You cannot delete a feature request in the app. To have one deleted, write to apps@romankoch.online.
Support messages
When you write to the developer, the app sends:
- The messages you write.
- Your email address, only if you choose to enter one. It is optional, and it is used only to answer you about that conversation.
- Technical information that helps to find the problem: app version and build number, iOS version, device model, the language and region settings of your device and of the app, a random app ID that the app creates for itself, and your subscription status. The subscription status includes your plan, the dates of purchases, trials and renewals, and the random customer ID used to manage your purchases. The app tells you on the support form what it sends before you send it.
The random app ID in a support message is the same one that is used for usage statistics. This lets the developer see, for example, which app version you used when the problem happened.
The app never adds your readings, notes, medications or any other health data to a support message. Please do not write health information in your messages unless it is needed to answer your question.
Support conversations are private between you and the developer. Other users cannot see them.
How long the data is kept and how to delete it
- A support conversation is kept until you delete it or the developer deletes it. You can delete a conversation at any time in the app. This permanently deletes all of its messages, the technical information sent with it, and the email address you gave for it, for the developer too.
- You can mark a conversation as done. This does not delete anything.
- Feature requests and votes are kept as long as the feature board exists, unless the developer removes them or you ask for them to be deleted.
- Deleting the app does not delete conversations or feature requests that were already sent. Delete your conversations in the app before you delete it, or write to apps@romankoch.online.
- Usage statistics are kept only as long as they are needed for the purposes described above, and are then deleted.
6.4 Purchases and RevenueCat
Purchases and subscriptions are made through the Apple App Store, and Apple handles the payment. The developer and RevenueCat never receive your payment details, your name or your Apple Account details.
To check whether you have unlocked the full version, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). RevenueCat receives:
- a random customer ID that RevenueCat creates for your installation. It does not contain your name or email address,
- the purchase information from the App Store: which product you bought, the purchase, trial, renewal and expiry dates, and the transaction data,
- technical information such as device type and iOS version.
RevenueCat processes this data on behalf of the developer, only to manage your purchases and to show purchase statistics to the developer. RevenueCat stores the data in the USA. The transfer is protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which are part of RevenueCat's data processing agreement. RevenueCat never receives your readings or other health data, and the app does not use RevenueCat for advertising.
