This Privacy Policy explains which data the Tip Tracker app stores, which data leaves your device, and what your rights are.
1. Who Is Responsible
Tip Tracker is developed and operated by Roman Koch (developer). The developer is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy. For any privacy questions, contact the developer by email at apps@romankoch.online.
2. Summary
Tip Tracker does not require an account and does not show ads. The data you enter — your shifts, tips, salary and notes — is stored only on your device. It is never sent to the developer or to any server.
Only two kinds of data leave your device: the data needed to process purchases (Section 4) and anonymous usage statistics (Section 5). Neither contains the data you enter.
3. Your Data in the App
What the app stores
- Shifts: date, start and end time, break, hours worked, cash tips, card tips, tip share, tip-out, sales, pay type and rate, and an optional note
- Jobs: name, pay type and default rate
- Settings: currency, first day of the week, and which fields you track
Where it is stored
All of this data is stored locally on your device, inside the app. The developer has no access to it at any time.
How it is used
The data is used only to provide the app's functions: recording, showing, charting and exporting your own earnings. It is never used for advertising, profiling or analytics, and it is never sold or shared.
Export
When you export your shifts as a CSV file, the app creates the file on your device and opens the iOS share sheet. You decide where the file goes, for example to Files, Mail or your tax advisor. The app does not send the file anywhere by itself.
Your control
- You can edit or delete any shift and any job in the app at any time.
- Deleting the app permanently removes all of its data from your device.
- Your data is not deleted when a subscription ends. It stays on your device. To open it in the app again, you need an active subscription or the Lifetime Version.
Please note: because the data is stored only on your device, the developer cannot restore it if the device is lost, reset or replaced. Export your shifts as CSV regularly to keep your own copy.
4. Purchases and RevenueCat
To process subscriptions and the Lifetime Version, the app uses the service RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). RevenueCat checks with Apple whether you have an active purchase, so the app knows which features to unlock.
What RevenueCat receives
- A random, anonymous app user ID created on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address or Apple Account.
- Your purchase history in this app (for example: product, date, trial or paid)
- Your device's locale and currency code
- Technical connection data that any internet service receives, such as your IP address
What RevenueCat does not receive
Your shifts, tips, salary, jobs, notes or any other data you enter in the app.
Why
This data is used to check and unlock purchases, to prevent fraud, and to give the developer statistics about purchases (for example, how many trials become paid subscriptions). It is not used for advertising or for tracking you across other apps or websites.
Legal basis (for users in the EU/EEA)
The processing is needed to provide the app you purchased (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Purchase statistics are based on the developer's legitimate interest in running the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). RevenueCat processes this data on behalf of the developer. Data may be transferred to the USA.

Payment
All purchases are made through the Apple App Store. The developer never sees or stores payment details. Apple processes your payment as the App Store seller, and Apple's privacy policy applies to this: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
5. Usage Statistics
To improve Tip Tracker, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to the developer's own server. They show which features people use and where problems happen. The developer uses them to plan new features, to find and fix bugs, and to make the app more stable.
What is sent
- A random, anonymous install ID, created on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address or Apple Account.
- A session ID. It changes when you have not used the app for 5 minutes.
- Events, with the time they happened. For example: the app was opened, a shift was saved or deleted, a purchase was completed, cancelled or failed, a tab was opened, a setting was changed, a CSV export was created.
- Details about these events, only as fixed codes, counts and yes/no answers. For example: which plan was chosen, whether a shift has tips or a note (not the tips or the note itself), how many shifts there are, and how many seconds it took to save a shift.
- Technical data: app version, iOS version, device type (iPhone or iPad), your language and region setting, and the currency you chose in the app.
What is not sent
Money amounts (tips, salary, sales or goals), job names, notes, or any other text you type.
Where it is stored
The statistics are stored in a database on the developer's web hosting at ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. They are not linked to your identity and are not combined with other data. They are not sold or given to third parties, and they are not used for advertising or for tracking you across other apps or websites.
The statistics database does not store your IP address. Like every web server, the hosting server records technical access data in its log files. The privacy policy of romankoch.online explains this: https://www.romankoch.online/privacy/
How long
The statistics are kept as long as they are needed for the purposes above. The install ID stays on your device until you delete the app. After a new installation, the app creates a new ID, so new statistics cannot be connected to the old ones.
Legal basis (for users in the EU/EEA)
As far as this data counts as personal data, the legal basis is the developer's legitimate interest in improving the app, fixing errors and keeping it stable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Your Rights
If you live in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to limit or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use these rights for the purchase data held by RevenueCat or for the usage statistics, contact the developer at apps@romankoch.online.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
7. Children
Tip Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in the user's country), and the developer does not knowingly collect any data from them.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app's functions or the applicable law change. The current version is always available at the Privacy Policy URL on the app's App Store page, together with the date of the last update.
9. Contact
For any privacy questions, or to use your rights, contact the developer at apps@romankoch.online.
